Title: Accounts Payable Specialist and HR assistant
Description: ALC is looking for a dynamic self-motivated individual to support a rapidly growing company in the Ag Industry. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for maintenance and processing of all related accounts payable transactions. This position will also include basic Human Resource responsibilities. This is a Full-time position with benefits.
Responsibilities
- Enter accounts payable invoice transactions
- Review accounts payable aging
- Prepare weekly check run, managing due dates to ensure timely payment within vendor terms
- Process accounts payable invoice rejections
- Monitor and follow up on pending invoice approvals
- Reconcile all vendor accounts and statements
- Set up new vendors, W-9, insurance, etc
- Verify compliance requirements are met for accounts payable vendors
- Enter/post credit card transactions and payments
- Monthly reconciliation of charge credits and reporting to management
- Other duties as assigned
- Enter biweekly Payroll hours
- Initiate and track/ log required employee training
- New hire paperwork
- Oversee employee enrollment in medical benefits and IRA benefit
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management, preferred but not required
- 3 – 5+ years of experience in an accounts payable position, preferably in Agriculture
- High level of proficiency with Quick Books
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to multi-task without losing attention to detail
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
